One of my good friends and I typically eat vegetarian together and love trying different vegetarian spots! With her moving to the South Bay, it's been fun to discover different places. She recommended grabbing dinner at Golden Bamboo Vegetarian. Upon entrance, I was quite surprised by the decor! It's tranquil, beautiful, and colorful. We were one of the first customers and over time it got more crowded but remained quiet. The only comment I have was that service was slow to be helped. One man was running the front but never checked on us compared to other groups, so we had to flag him for our various needs. The food came out fast though which was appreciated! My friend and I shared a family style. I haven't eaten beef in over five years and don't have many opportunities to eat alternatives. So of course, we got the Cơm Bò Lúc Lắc (Shaken Beef) with White Rice. The flavor of the vegan meat was on point, even the texture felt real. There were plenty of veggies and it was a great dish to share. She also had the Nấm Rang Muối (Salt & Pepper Oyster Mushroom), which she highly recommends plus we enjoyed the Nem Nướng Cuốn (Pork Spring Rolls). The spring rolls were jam-packed and refreshing, and the vegan pork was delectably grilled. Everything tasted fantastic and was reasonably priced! For those looking for a purely vegetarian and vegan restaurant, Golden Bamboo Vegetarian got your back! It's pretty unique considering they put a vegetarian and vegan twist on Vietnamese food which traditionally has meat in most dishes. We would both come back as the food, price, and quality were great! Located off S White Road there's plenty of parking in the center's lot.

Firstly- the restaurant is so beautiful and serene! The food here is amazing and the manager and the severs are extremely kind! After going vegetarian about two years ago, I have been missing Vietnamese/Asian food because most seem to be so meat heavy or made with fish sauce but finding a vegan Vietnamese restaurant was so refreshing!! And the food was delicious!! The house egg rolls with taro was 10/10. The green curry, fried rice and lemongrass chicken were fantastic!! I will definitely be back!

Service was great and we had a huge party. It was super cool to see the different vegetarian style dishes of popular meat dishes. Small space so call in advance if you have a large party.

My first time here because my aunt is vegan. Everything was amazing! Pretty pricey, but worth it. Ingredients mesh well together. I love the presentation. I would definitely come back to try more dishes. For 3, 3 dishes were more than enough. I love the ambience the moment you walk in. It feels so zen as im escaping reality. Service was on point and manager was helpful. There's lots of parking spaces, so it definitely feel less stress coming here.

I have been to Golden Bamboo a few times over the years with Vietnamese dining partners and it is a very good vegetarian restaurant option! It is in a busy strip mall cluster on South White street in perhaps lower Evergreen area of northeast San Jose and not too far from Milpitas to the north. The decor is cozy and comfy, with many Vietnamese and some Thai icons and decorations in a lush Southeast Asian ambiance. The food is mostly popular Vietnamese dishes made Vegetarian, including Pho and Bun (Bo) Hue noodle soups, Com rice plates, Cha Giờ and Gọi Cuốn appetizers (egg and spring rolls), (Bo) Lúc Lac and other favorites you would find at Vietnamese restos with meat. The appetizer rolls (I.e. #5 on the menu) come in a cute oblong basket shaped like a Viet river boat with a black metal figurine on the end with a pole/paddle to move it along, just like in many Mekong delta tributaries in South Vietnam. This dish is super crispy and lightly flash fried , that you roll up in leafy green romaine leaves with some mint leaves, and dip in your Nức Mắm fish sauce. Ngon quá! (delish!). The Pho broth is umami delish despite being vegetarian! Rich deep flavor! The service is friendly and nice, and the workers and diners here are mostly Vietnamese, so you know this is the real deal. If you are vegetarian, or Buddhist practicing a vegetarian date/time of year, or just trying to eat more healthy, this one is a great choice for you. Maybe if you ate here more often, you won't have to use the Satellite Kidney care place around the corner in your old age. To your health!

Took my mom here for her birthday and everyone enjoyed the food even though we're not vegetarian the restaurant interior is beautiful and the service was super friendly. Good: 1. House egg rolls: These were so crunchy even after sitting for a while. The filling was delicious and tasted so good wrapped in lettuce with the fish sauce. One of my favorites from the meal. 2. Five salad sampler: I love trying a little bit of everything when I visit a restaurant and this dish was perfect for that. All the salads were really well seasoned. It came with rice crackers which added a nice crunch. The presentation was super nice and it was just as tasty as it was visually appealing. 3. Vietnamese sweet and sour hotpot: the hotpot came out last and it was the perfect way to end the meal. The broth was light and came with tons of veggies. Okay: 1. Shaken beef: this dish was pretty solid but I wouldn't order it again the next time I come. It wasn't my favorite texture wise but the flavor was there. 2. Salted fish fried rice: this fried rice had nice little crunchy bits, however I found that it lacked flavor. Wouldn't recommend: 1. Taro dessert: I heard many good things about this and was let down by it. It comes with a huge chunk of taro but I didn't think it was good and everyone at the table agreed. 2. The Thai tea and sugarcane juice: for the price, the drinks were pretty average. The sugarcane juice is not made fresh and is not very sweet.

We've been on a roll on good vegetarian Vietnamese food! The food here is pretty good although a bit pricier. We called in for take out and they had our order ready in 15 minutes. Coming to pick up the food, the resturant was pretty empty inside besides 2 other tables. The workers were very friendly though! I ordered the Bo Luc lac with macaroni while my boyfriend got the Bo Luc lac with rice. I did not like the macaroni - it soaked up all the sauce and I didn't like the texture after a while. I wish I got rice instead. The initiation beef was good! Definitely cooked well. We also got the nem nuong as an appetizer and they were yummy. I wish the sauce was more creamier - it was a bit liquidy. Overall great service and good food, but wouldn't be my top choice! I would come if I was in the area though.
